Within the film tour under the name “Made in Prague: New Czech Cinema” new
Czech films (It’s gonna get worse, Beauty in trouble, Indian and the Nurse,
Grandhotel and others) are being shown in selected British cinemas. More

Slovak-British Ball

The Slovak Centre in London is preparing the 2nd Slovak-British Ball. It is
going to take place under the auspices of the Deputy Prime Minister of the
Slovak Republic Dušan Čaplovič, ambassador of the SR in Great Britain Juraj
Zervan, ambassador of the UK in Slovakia Michael Roberts, chairwoman of The
Office of The Slovaks Living Abroad Vilma Prívarová and a member of the
European Commission for education, culture and youth Ján Figeľ. The profit
will be devoted to the foundation SUSCIPIO to support emerging artists. The ball
will take place in Café Royal, 86 Regent’s Street, London W1B 5EL, starting
at 6.30pm. Admission is £45 with advance booking (£65 after 8th February

Quartet

The Czech Wihan Quartet will be introduced to British lovers of classical music.
All the time in their original four member composition, they have a marvellous
reputation thanks to their interpretation of their own Czech repertoire. Details

Bohemian Glass
Until March 15, 2008
An exhibition of glass products of three young Czech artists – teachers and
their students. Czech glass is world renowned and has been recognised since
middle ages. You can see that for yourself at the Flow Gallery, 1–5 Needham
Road, London, W11 2RP before 15th March 2008 or in the Crafts Study Centre in
Farnham during July and August.
